We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Coordinator to join our team at the Cincinnati plant. The ideal candidate will lead quality and food safety activities, ensuring the integrity of our plant's sensory program, quality notifications, and finished product pathogen testing. This role demands high learning agility and exceptional communication skills, with a focus on continuous improvement in quality, regulatory, and food safety areas.
Responsibilities
+ Complete and organize rework paperwork.
+ Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for quality, sanitation, and food safety.
+ Lead traceability computer work and manage weekly hold reports.
+ Enter quality notifications in SAP for defective materials or packaging.
+ Lead and document the plant sensory program and manage gold standards.
+ Organize and schedule micro and allergen testing with the Logistics department.
+ Lead allergen inspections and maintain documentation.
+ Audit HACCP, Control Point, and Control Measure documentation.
+ Conduct receiving inspections for suspect materials or conditions.
+ Perform internal food safety physical inspections (FSRA).
+ Sample for corporate, R&D, micro testing, product managers, retain management, and line reviews.
+ Support foreign material decision making and risk assessment.
+ Understand and learn regulatory and food safety requirements, including GMPs, HACCP, and Allergen Management.
+ Support the Risk Management Program.
+ Create and revise OPLs for job responsibilities.
+ Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.
+ 1-2 years of quality/food safety work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
+ HACCP certification is a significant plus.
+ Preventive Controls certification is an advantage.
+ Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
+ Ability to communicate internally and externally at all levels and across disciplines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Other food safety training and certifications.
+ Demonstrated job stability on resumes is important.
Work Environment
The position is located at a cereal plant where products like Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Chex are produced. The role involves sensory/taste testing, although tasting is not required if you have allergies. Employees enjoy the perk of free products to take home. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, with standard hours and rare overtime, approximately once a month. The position involves spending 40-50% of the time on the production floor, with the remainder at a desk and in the sensory tasting area.

This is a Contract position based out of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
