    Technical Illustrator

    Job Description

    As a Technical Illustrator, you will engage daily with a project priority queue. You will search assembly numbers on the server, pull Solidworks files, and synchronize them with the appropriate software. Your role involves converting files into a composer program to optimize them for drawing. Once you have the files, you will be responsible for creating the Bill of Materials (BOM) and generating exploded parts. You will transform 3D models into 2D drawings for assembly manuals and collaborate with the engineering team to correct drawings as necessary.

    Responsibilities

    + Manage and prioritize daily tasks from a project queue.

    + Search and retrieve assembly numbers from the server.

    + Pull Solidworks files and synchronize them with the correct software.

    + Convert files into a composer program to optimize them.

    + Create Bill of Materials (BOM) and generate exploded parts.

    + Transform 3D models into 2D drawings for assembly manuals.

    + Collaborate with the engineering team to correct drawings.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in Mechanical Design and Technical Illustration.

    + Strong skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

    + Experience with Solidworks Composer.

    + Excellent English and writing abilities.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + 1+ year of experience with Adobe Illustrator, Solidworks Composer, or project management.

    + Associates degree in technical illustration preferred but not required.

    Work Environment

    You will work in Pella, IA, in a cubicle environment as part of a team of about 25 spread across seven different plants. Collaboration with the engineering group is frequent. The company offers a 'dress for your day' policy, where most employees wear jeans and a nice shirt or a company polo. Working hours are Monday to Friday, from 6/7 AM to 4 PM, with a hybrid schedule available. The work culture is inclusive, with opportunities for involvement in activities such as basketball leagues. The company provides advanced training in engineering practices and a mentorship program, fostering a family-like environment despite having 3500 employees.

    This is a Contract position based out of PELLA, Iowa.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
