    Job Title: Bench Chemist

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Bench Chemist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of chemical analyses and support laboratory operations. The role involves working with raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods using advanced testing methods.

    Responsibilities

    + Run LC and GC testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods.

    + Prepare samples across matrices, run calibration curves, and conduct system suitability and integration review.

    + Perform wet chemistry techniques such as pH measurement, titrations, and loss on drying (LOD).

    + Conduct first-line instrument care, including column maintenance, addressing leaks, and replacing pump seals, while adhering to IQ/OQ/PQ guidelines.

    + Provide basic troubleshooting and maintenance for laboratory instruments.

    + Support method validation work focusing on accuracy, precision, and limits of detection (LOD) and quantification (LOQ).

    + Flexibly support laboratory needs, including inventory management, lab clean-up, and peer review of notebooks.

    + Draft and review standard operating procedures (SOPs).

    Essential Skills

    + Master's degree in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry with 3-5 years of experience in a quality control laboratory, preferably in the food or supplement industry.

    + Proven ability to operate HPLC and GC independently.

    + Experience with natural product or lipid-rich matrices, focusing on small molecule testing such as vitamins, fats, emulsifiers, and actives.

    + Working knowledge of USP/AOAC methods and cGMP documentation.

    + Proficiency with chromatography software such as OpenLab and ChemStation.

    + Strong laboratory safety mindset and approach to work.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry with 3-5 years of relevant laboratory experience.

    + wet chemistry, organic chemistry, formulation, and research & development.

     

    Work Environment

     

    The position is based in a laboratory environment with a standard work schedule of Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hadley, Massachusetts.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.
