Adecco is currently assisting a client in their search for a **Payroll Specialist** in **Princeton, NJ** . This temp-to-hire opportunity offers a hybrid schedule with a supportive team environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in payroll processing and reporting.
**Location:** Princeton, NJ (Hybrid – In Office Tues–Thurs; Work From Home Mon & Fri)
**Schedule:** Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
**Pay Rate:** $20–$24 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
+ Ensure compliance with all applicable payroll laws and company policies.
+ Monitor and report unapproved or missing time entries; escalate as needed to HR and management.
+ Set up security roles for new supervisors and assist with Time and Labor system configurations.
+ Respond to help desk tickets and inquiries related to payroll and timekeeping systems.
+ Manage garnishments, banking tasks, off-cycle payments, and assist with payroll reconciliations.
+ Collaborate with payroll vendors for system updates, enhancements, and issue resolution.
+ Serve as a point of contact for accounting and audit-related payroll reporting.
+ Support new hire and termination payroll tracking and documentation.
+ Perform regular reconciliations and validations of payroll data.
+ Assist with escheatment processing, special projects, and provide back-up coverage for payroll team functions.
Skills & Qualifications:
Required:
+ High School diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or relevant experience may substitute).
+ Minimum **2 years** of payroll processing/accounting experience.
+ Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
+ Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
+ Self-starter with high attention to detail and ability to work independently.
+ Interest in process improvement and automation.
Preferred:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
+ Experience with payroll systems such as **PeopleSoft** or **UKG** (formerly Kronos).
+ Prior experience working with external payroll vendors and audit preparation.
**Pay Details:** $20.00 to $24.00 per hour
