    Sr. Product Engineer

    Job Description

    We are seeking a Senior Product Engineer to join our Water Quality product portfolio team, focusing on new product development and lifecycle management. This role bridges the gap between Product Management and Engineering, ensuring customer needs are translated into technical solutions that drive innovation and reliability.

    Responsibilities

    + Act as the primary engineering interface for product management, translating VOC data into engineering requirements and product specifications for next-generation water quality systems.

    + Lead cross-functional teams to prioritize and resolve field failures using the 8D methodology, focusing on customer experience and reducing warranty costs.

    + Collaborate with R&D, marketing, and manufacturing teams to prototype, test, and validate new concepts.

    + Provide technical support to sales, service, and customer care teams.

    + Guide junior engineers and cross-functional teams in best practices for product design, testing, and documentation.

    + Manage post-launch product lifecycle by conducting root cause analysis and implementing design improvements for existing products.

    + Partner with global manufacturing, sourcing, engineering, and commercial teams to implement VA/VE initiatives, optimizing between COGS, reliability, and customer experience.

    + Co-author 3-year technology roadmaps, prioritizing features aligned with innovation goals.

    + Validate business cases using ROI analysis and prototyping for innovations.

    + Work closely with regulatory and quality teams to ensure product certifications and compliance.

    + Stay updated on the latest regulatory standards affecting assigned categories, ensuring the product and technology roadmap complies.

    + Contribute proactively to proposed new regulatory and code standards development, working with legal and regulatory teams to craft comments and influence rulemaking.

    Essential Skills

    + New product development experience.

    + Proficiency in IoT and electromechanical products.

    + Experience in product management and engineering.

    + Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering.

    + 10+ years of engineering experience with stakeholder management.

    + Proficiency in Agile frameworks, requirements management tools, and IoT platforms.

    + Expertise in DFMEA, DOE, and statistical analysis using Minitab.

    + Ability to simplify technical concepts for executives and product teams.

    + Familiarity with pool industry standards, regulations, and water chemistry.

    + Experience with IoT-enabled devices and embedded systems.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Knowledge of sustainability principles and eco-design.

    + Experience with water-based industries is preferred.

     

    Work Environment

     

    This role is hybrid out of Apex with travel required on average around 25%, primarily to Moorepark, CA, where this product line is produced.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Permanent position based out of Apex, North Carolina.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $135000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
