Job Title: Drafter
Job Description
We are seeking a Drafter to collaborate with our engineering team in the preparation, editing, and execution of design documentation using native PLM and PDM systems. The role involves generating technical documents, verifying their accuracy, and preparing the first drafts of change orders for engineering review and submittal. Additional responsibilities include data entry and correction, working with pivot tables, and conducting high-level data analysis. This position is vital to the success of the engineering team's operations, requiring a quick start to enhance productivity.
Responsibilities
+ Collaborate with engineering staff to prepare, edit, and execute design documentation.
+ Generate technical documents and verify their accuracy.
+ Prepare first drafts of change orders for engineering review and submittal.
+ Perform data entry and correction across software systems.
+ Conduct high-level data analysis using pivot tables.
+ Create assembly drawings from SolidWorks models and collaborate with the Engineering Manager.
+ Develop and adhere to style guides for assembly drawings.
+ Complete approximately 90% of assembly drawings before passing them off for final review by the engineer.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in SolidWorks and NX CAD.
+ Experience with GD&T Y14.5 standards.
+ Strong skills in data entry, PLM systems, and technical documentation.
+ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables.
+ High attention to detail.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in Teamcenter and Arena or similar PLM systems.
+ Experience in engineering and manufacturing industries.
+ Experience in aviation or military settings.
+ Open to recent Associate's graduates with a preference for 2+ years of experience.
+ Ability to provide detailed sample work including GD&T, measurements, and redlines.
Work Environment
The role can be performed remotely, in-office, or in a hybrid model, with remote access via VPN. The work environment is an urban industrial office space, soon moving to a new 65,000 sq. ft building in South Austin. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5/6 pm, with flexibility required to accommodate early or late hours as needed. The company offers a dynamic environment with high-level technology and growth opportunities, situated in a brand-new campus location.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
