Description We are looking for a Senior Associate to join the Real Estate Group of a respected private equity firm based in Boston, Massachusetts. In this role, you will play a critical part in overseeing accounting and reporting processes for a diverse portfolio of direct real estate investments. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with various internal teams and external partners, ensuring the financial success of a wide range of asset sectors.

Responsibilities:

• Manage accurate accounting and reporting for real estate investments on a monthly and quarterly basis, including reviewing promote and management fee calculations.

• Maintain regular communication with joint venture partners to discuss financial operations and transactions.

• Collaborate with the fund administrator to review and ensure the accuracy of quarterly and annual financial statements.

• Perform weekly fund cash availability analyses to assess loan drawdowns and repayments.

• Coordinate and review investor-level capital calls and distribution notices, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Evaluate internal valuations and external appraisals of real estate assets, preparing detailed materials for the Valuation Committee.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams such as Investment, Portfolio Analytics, Tax, and Legal on financial matters related to investments and funds.

• Oversee the completion and accuracy of fund-level audits by liaising with auditors.

• Review annual property budgets and monitor budget-to-actual variances, providing insights and recommendations.

• Lead special projects aimed at improving internal processes and team efficiency. Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a focus on real estate or investments.

• Strong expertise in month-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

• Proficiency in general ledger management and financial statement preparation.

• Familiarity with bank reconciliations and cash flow analysis.

• Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide clear, actionable insights.

• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners.

• Experience working with valuation processes and financial audits.

• Knowledge of relevant industry and accounting standards applicable to real estate investments.
