    Summary

    The Data Quality Technical Product Owner will play a key role in shaping and implementing Key's Data Quality program. Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Data Quality within the Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO), this role will define, implement, and manage core Data Quality technical implementations aligned with the Enterprise Data Quality (EDQ) Framework. This includes prioritization, coverage, tooling, monitoring, defect management, and measurement to foster a data-driven culture grounded in Data Trust. This role is accountable for leading key components of the program, developing and executing the technical implementation and automation of the framework, and implementing sustainable processes and tools for enterprise-wide Data Quality Management. Key's Enterprise Data Quality program is a strategic function providing the foundation for Data Trust across all organizational and Data Governance functions, teams, and data uses (regulatory, analytics, AI, reporting, etc.). The ideal candidate is a passionate data advocate with a strong understanding of data quality principles, tools, and best practices.

     

    A successful candidate for this role will utilize their data quality, technology implementation, data management, business acumen, delivery, and leadership experience to lead core components of the Data Quality Framework through design, development, and implementation. This role will require the development of partnerships with functional leaders to align capabilities and roadmaps across business and EDAS goals.

    Responsibilities

    + **Technology Strategy**

    + Align tooling and automation strategies with enterprise data quality program and business objectives.

    + Apply process automation, custom utilities, and industry-standard tools to deliver the right solution for each problem. Solutions should be selected based on level of effort and expected return on investment (ROI), ensuring efficiency and impact.

    + **Tooling & Vendor Collaboration**

    + Lead the implementation and integration of data quality tools in partnership with external vendors.

    + Manage vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery of technical components and alignment with enterprise standards.

    + **Dashboard & Automation Development**

    + Identify opportunities to implement and leverage the interconnections between data, capabilities, and automations to build highly effective, efficient, and integrated dashboards that clearly communicate the Enterprise Data Quality team’s functions and KPIs. Dashboards should support actionability and engagement across internal teams, key stakeholders, and leadership.

    + **Framework Integration**

    + Identify and drive technology solutions that unify all components of the data quality framework including rule writing, execution, monitoring, and remediation.

    + Ensure seamless integration with existing enterprise platforms and data pipelines.

    + **Technical Requirements & Design**

    + Translate business and data quality requirements into technical specifications and product designs.

    + Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet functional needs.

    + **Documentation & Standards**

    + Maintain technical documentation for tools, integrations, and automation processes.

    + Contribute to the definition of technical standards and best practices for data quality engineering.

    + **Cross-Functional Collaboration**

    + Partner with data governance, engineering, analytics, and business teams to ensure alignment and adoption.

    + Facilitate technical workshops and working sessions to drive solution design and delivery.

    + **Training & Technical Advocacy**

    + Provide technical onboarding and training for internal users of data quality tools.

    + Advocate for scalable, sustainable technology practices within the data quality domain.

    + **Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication:**

    + Effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote the data quality function and associated service offerings.

    + Supports a culture of collaboration and implements methods for people to come together to make decisions, solve problems, and develop products/service; establishes shared goals to foster collaboration and ensures everyone can access the same information and provide input

    + **Data Evangelist** :

    + Be a catalyst for driving culture focused on awareness of Data Management practices & metadata strategies covering Data Inventory, Data Catalog, Data Quality and Data Lineage

    + **Continuous Improvement:**

    + Stay abreast of industry best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives

    Qualifications

    + 10+ years of experience, preferably in Banking or Finance

    + 10+ years of experience implementing technology solutions including custom development and vendor implementations

    + 5+ years of experience establishing, operationalizing, and continuously improving enterprise data quality programs

    + Deep understanding of data governance frameworks and practices (e.g., DCAM)

    + Proven experience as a Product Owner (or similar role) managing enterprise data quality programs or assets, including Agile methodologies and backlog management

    + Ability to coach and mentor junior staff

    + Ability to lead initiatives within and across teams

    + Strong understanding of data management principles, data governance, and regulatory requirements, particularly regarding data quality coverage and monitoring of sensitive and critical data

    + Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data quality assessment skills, focusing on data accuracy, completeness, and security

    + Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to tailor communication to diverse audiences, drive consensus, and influence stakeholders at all levels

    + Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and collaborate effectively to achieve shared objectives

    + Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills

    + Ability to balance strategic vision with attention to detail

    + Demonstrates the ability to examine a specific problem and understand the perspective of stakeholders; uses fact-finding techniques to identify and document specific problems

    + Strong organizational acumen, including understanding of systems, management processes, and information sources

    + Strong business acumen; understanding of how data quality impacts business units and how data quality programs support business objectives

    + Proficiency in data quality tools and technologies, including data quality management, metadata, coverage standards, monitoring, and defect management

    + Familiarity with data catalog capabilities and tools (e.g., Alation, Collibra)

    + Familiarity with dashboarding technologies (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI)

    + Familiarity with cloud-based technologies (e.g., GCP, AWS)

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office/365 products (Word, Excel, PPT)

    Education

    + Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Finance, or related field

    + Master's degree preferred but not required

    Travel

    + Occasional travel to include overnight stay.

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $123,000.00 - $257,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
