We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join our team supporting energy efficiency and load management programs for utilities. This role will focus on maintaining and enhancing predictive analytics models, while also driving new analytical insights to inform program strategy and performance.
The ideal candidate will apply advanced statistical and computational methodologies and integrate these analyses into supporting IT systems to help achieve business objectives. Responsibilities include analyzing large datasets—spanning customer behavior, energy usage, and marketing performance to identify appropriate statistical techniques, develop and execute code, validate outputs, and produce technical reports. This individual will collaborate closely with computer scientists, data researchers, and business stakeholders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

What you will be doing:
+ Maintain and improve predictive models used in utility energy efficiency and load management programs
+ Design and conduct new analyses to uncover actionable insights from large, complex datasets
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data-driven solutions
+ Develop and deploy data pipelines and workflows using Azure tools and services
+ Document methodologies, assumptions, and results for both technical and non-technical audiences
+ Identify and implement appropriate statistical analyses and models to provide actionable conclusions on energy, customer, and marketing data
+ Work with software engineering to integrate models into quantitative software solutions
+ Take an approach with repeatability, transparency, and time efficiency in mind
+ Stay up to date on tools, trends, and best practices in energy analytics and visualization
+ Manage and prioritize a diverse set of technical assignments across multiple projects in an agile software environment
+ Work with cross-functional teams including data engineers, developers, and subject matter experts to ensure high-quality client deliverables
What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):
+ Bachelor’s degree in Math, Engineering, Science, IT or related discipline
+ 3+ years of experience in data analysis
+ Proficiency in R and/or Python or statistical modeling, data manipulation, and visualization
+ Proficiency with version control systems such as Git and TortoiseSVN, including branching strategies, pull requests, and repository management
+ Must be able to pass a background check, have a valid driver’s license, and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and drug screening.
What we would like you to have (preferred qualifications):
+ Working knowledge of SQL for querying relational databases
+ Strong understanding of predictive modeling techniques and machine learning algorithms
+ Familiarity with Docker for building and deploying containerized machine learning environments and applications
+ Experience with Microsoft Azure services (e.g. Azure Databricks, Azure Batch, Azure Blob/Table Storage)
+ Familiarity with energy efficiency, utilities, or environmental analytics a plus
+ Experience working with large-scale datasets and building scalable data solutions

**Pay Range** - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
$67,020.00 - $113,934.00
