As the WSS CTO **Senior Business Manager** , you’ll play a strategic role working closely with the WWS CTO CVP to drive clarity, momentum, and impact across the organization. You’ll collaborate with the leadership team and WSS Chief of Staff community to orchestrate org-wide initiatives, streamline decision-making, and foster an inclusive, high-performing culture. From aligning cross-functional efforts to managing business rhythms, you’ll be the connective force that keeps priorities moving forward and the team thriving.

Responsibilities
As the Business Manager for the WSS CTO CVP, you will partner closely with the CVP, their Leadership Team (LT), and leaders across WSS to drive strategic planning, operational excellence, leader impact, and organizational health.

**D** **efine and set annual strategy and priorities** in alignment with WWS-wide goals, partnering with the CVP and LT to shape strategic, technical, and growth plans. Deliver end-to-end business insights that inform decision-making and ensure initiatives are milestone-driven and executed with excellence.
**E** **stablish and** **maintain** **a predictable operating rhythm** that integrates internal milestones—such as LT meetings, People ROB, Townhalls, and AMAs—with external partner engagements and the broader WSS Rhythm of the Business. In collaboration with the WSS CTO executive admin, you’ll define and land the annual ROB at the start of the fiscal year, ensuring alignment across WSS.
**Lead** **Opex** **budget planning and forecasting in alignment with Finance and** **WSS** **guidance,** ensuring targets are met and cascaded effectively across teams. Monitor monthly spend, drive accountability to financial goals, and partner with team managers to execute quarterly financial reviews and maintain disciplined budget management.
**Own annual** **Opex** **budget and headcount (HC) management** , ensuring alignment with strategic goals and accurate forecasting across planning cycles.
**Drive team** **compliance** **accountability** **,** ensuring adherence to key policies, processes, and regulatory requirements.
**Executive Communication** : In partnership with the communications lead, you will plan the CVP’s presence at key events such as Ignite, MCAPS START, WSS Townhalls, and partner events, to align on a clear, effective communication strategy.
**E** **xtend the leader’s impact** by partnering with the leader, the exec admin, the LT, and the broader WSS business and strategy team. You will align priorities, see around corners, ask insightful questions, coach, collaborate, and drive results, maximizing the impact of the team and leveraging the capabilities of the LT to scale. You’ll synthesize insights to influence leadership decisions, manage executive content, and ensure confidentiality of Microsoft business data. You’ll build relationships across the organization and with external stakeholders, organize executive visits, and drive follow-up on leadership team agendas.
**S** **upport a healthy organizational rhythm** by promoting culture initiatives aligned to the People Strategy. Partnering with HR and the CVP, you’ll define action plans in response to employee signals, track compliance and training completion, and execute programs as needed.
**L** **ead strategic** **initiatives** that address evolving business needs through coordinated execution across multiple functions.

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 6+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles

+ Master's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 8+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles OR Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 12+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles

Business Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.
