    Journeyman Quality Assurance Tester

     

    Clearance: Active IRS MBI Clearance Required

     

    Work Authorization: US Citizenship Required

     

    Compensation: $50,000- $63,000

    What You Will Do:

    + Design, develop, and execute integration test plans, test cases, and test scripts.

    + Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other QA team members to understand integration points and requirements.

    + Perform end-to-end testing of software systems, APIs, and third-party integrations.

    + Identify, document, and track defects using issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).

    + Validate data flow and system interactions across multiple platforms.

    + Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

    + Ensure compliance with quality standards and best practices in integration testing.

    + Provide feedback and recommendations for improving system architecture and integration design.

    What You Will Need:

    + Bachelor’s degree. Additional Four (4) expedience can be used in lieu of degree.

    + At least Two (2) years of experience in software testing, with a focus on integration testing.

    + Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.

    + Experience with testing tools like – Jmeter, Postman, SoapUI, Selenium, Cucumber, and other testing frameworks

    + Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab).

    + Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) is a plus.

    + Experience with Oracle, DB2, or SQL Server for data-driven testing.

    + Must be able to work from IRS Office from one of these locations: Ogden UT, Atlanta GA, Austin TX. Dallas, TX, Kansas City, MO. Martinsburg WV, Detroit, MI, New Carrollton, MD.

    Preferred Skills

    + Experience with LoadRunner for designing, executing and analyzing performance tests.

    + Skilled in bottleneck analysis and establishing performance baselines.

    + Understanding of Service Level Agreements (SLA's), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and non-functional requirements and translating them into testing objectives.

    + Experience producing forecasts and workload projections based on trend analysis and historical data.

    + Knowledge of cloud performance testing (AWS, Azure).

    + Strong skills in analyzing test results and findings to provide actionable recommendations.

    + Experience with capacity planning frameworks and building performance models to anticipate future growth and demand.

    + Familiarity with monitoring tools for performance testing, such as AppDynamics or Splunk, to identify and analyze bottlenecks.?

    + Familiarity with mainframe and web-based performance systems.

    + Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility testing standards and tools (e.g., JAWS, ZoomText).

    + Experience supporting test automation initiatives and contributing to automation frameworks.

    + Familiarity with performance testing and monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, AIX, OEM).

    + Exposure to enterprise scheduling tools such as Control-M or OpCon.

    + Experience with IBM Rational ELM suite preferred.

    + Experience with IRS-specific documentation standards and test lifecycle artifacts.

    + Familiarity with IRS internal tools, test management systems, IRS security policies, IRM standards and SBU data compliance.

    + Experience with ETL tools like Informatica and data masking technologies.

    Additional Experience or Willingness to Learn:

    + Ability to sign on to the IBM Mainframe in support of EST test operations

    + Experience using Control M and IRS Secure FTP in support of EST test operations

    + Experience requesting new pass ticket passwords in support of EST test operations

    + Experience running IBM JCL jobs on SCIPAS, IMF, TRDB, etc., in support of EST test operations

    + Experience forcing out scheduled jobs to mainframe Control M in support of EST test operations

    + Experience administering a Unisys database in support of test operations

    + Experience maintaining IRS approved system program software in support of EST test operations

    + Experience correcting Unisys ECL job errors in support of EST test operations

    + Experience updating Unisys ECL program libraries in support of EST test operations

    + Experience executing Unisys programs using OpCon and job flows.

    + Test Analysts with experience creating various Business Masterfile forms and schedules.

    + Experience creating Pegasus input files used for MeF processing.
