Job Purpose:
The Analyst – Nursing Reporting and Analytics specializes in reports impacting nursing departments rolling up to the SVP/Chief Nursing Executive for MHS wholly-owned facilities, including areas like nursing key performance indicators, medical staff utilization, transfer center operations, strategic planning, and operational decision-making. The Analyst applies appropriate statistical analyses, data quality control, and data normalization to all reports. Educates staff and medical staff on projects, developments, and use of data. Serves as an “interpreter” for statistical analyses. Assesses the information needs and capabilities of stakeholders, partnering with them to support change that is data-driven. Provides assessments for organizational prioritization of initiatives and evaluation of departments/projects. Oversees the design, production, integration, and analysis of data and collaborates with associated data custodians to inform strategic and operational decision-making. Supports the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of Methodist Health System.

Education:
**Minimum:** Bachelor's degree in healthcare, public health, mathematics, statistics, business, information systems, or a related field, or work experience of two years or more
Required Experience:
+ A minimum of two years of relevant experience, including data management, business analytics, biostatistics, electronic medical records, or quality improvement. Experience in healthcare preferred. Graduate education in a related field will be considered toward experience.
+ One year of experience with management of large datasets and creating detailed reports for internal and external stakeholders is preferred.

Related Work Experience and Other Skills:
+ Able to assess the needs of a growing business and develop analytic tools that make clear recommendations and allow stakeholders to make data-driven decisions.
+ Preferred: Working knowledge of continuous process improvement methodologies.
+ Passionate about designing impactful presentations and communicating data insights to internal and external stakeholders at a variety of technical levels.
+ Executes work with an attention to detail, a strong sense of personal accountability for high quality, accurate, and error-free deliverables, and a commitment to maintaining data integrity.
+ Proficient in a data analysis and visualization software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, SAS) and/or a database management software (e.g., Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server).
+ Preferred: Experienced in analyzing Epic data (e.g., Reporting Workbench, Slicer Dicer, Transfer module, Patient Placement module).
+ Demonstrates analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and learning agility.
+ Possesses superior written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to keeping stakeholders engaged and updated.
+ Able to work both independently with a strong work ethic and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
+ Serves as a dependable and energetic self-starter with a curiosity for learning and a desire to support a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
