Description

JOB FUNCTION:

Assist in the carrying out of those activities which will ensure that the center meets both the Head Start Performance Standards and the NJ/PA Licensing Regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

+ Assist the Teacher and Teacher Assistant in implementing educational activities in the classroom and interact with children in a developmentally appropriate manner.

+ Participate in weekly Center staff meetings and all other meetings as requested. Attend training and workshops.

+ Accompany Teacher in making educational home visits and Parent /Teacher conferences as requested by the Head/Group Teacher.

+ Assume Teacher Assistant responsibilities in the absence of the Teacher Assistant, as requested by Supervisors/Coordinators.

+ Assist in the preparation and clean-up of the classroom.

+ To assist in other areas of the center to ensure continuity of services including kitchen, as assigned by the Child/Family Site Director.

+ Ensures the safety of all children by participating in monitoring of center, implementation of child safety procedures, reporting accidents, reporting child abuse or neglect, and reporting any child health/safety concern to supervisor

+ Float between classrooms as directed by Child/Family Site Director or Education Manager/Coordinator.

+ Provide One-to-One aide services to identified child as per the child’s IFSP, IEP, or IPP

+ To assist bus driver in providing a safe, supervised bus environment, as needed, as per licensing standards(Chap 122, 10:122-9.9(a)1.)

+ Any Head Start task as delegated by Teacher or Supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS

+ Must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D.

+ Must be able to read and write sufficiently to maintain proper records.
