    Job Description

    The SUE Technician I supports all phases of Subsurface Utility Engineering fieldwork, working closely with a senior technician and crew to ensure accurate utility data collection and safe field operations. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals eager to learn and grow within the utility engineering field.

    Key Responsibilities:

    -Assist in all phases of SUE fieldwork including utility locating, mapping, and documentation.

     

    -Operate and maintain electromagnetic locators, ground penetrating radar (GPR), and other utility detection equipment.

     

    -Collect field measurements and prepare detailed field -sketches.

     

    -Conduct site research to identify and verify existing utility lines.

     

    -Maintain company vehicles and field equipment in good working condition.

     

    -Learn to operate and maintain a Vacuum Excavation Truck.

     

    -Safely use power tools and heavy pneumatic equipment as needed.

     

    -Work collaboratively as part of a field crew under the direction of a senior technician.

    Skills and Requirements

    Essential skills and qualifications:

    -Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving history.

     

    -Ability to lift and carry equipment, often up to 50 pounds.

     

    -Basic technical knowledge and strong attention to detail.

     

    -Good communication and teamwork skills.

     

    -Physical ability to work in various weather conditions.

     

    -Willingness to travel and work overtime when needed.
