SUMMARY
The Director of Compliance, Learning, and Development plays a critical leadership role in the Youth Services and Reentry Success Department. This dynamic position is designed to ensure that Peckham delivers a consistent, high-quality experience for participants across all locations, providing compliance support, engaging learning opportunities, and evidence-based, trauma-informed program development. The Assistant Director will be responsible for standardizing lessons and curriculum to guarantee that services maintain fidelity and effectiveness regardless of location. In this role, they will also oversee the delivery of training, evaluate staff instructional quality, and ensure that staff across all sites follow best practices. As the department continues to grow, the Assistant Director role will be pivotal in ensuring that Peckham remains an industry leader in providing cutting-edge programs within a culture of acceptance and accountability. This position will also over-see and be responsible for the Footprints’ residential program, providing consultation and ensuring licensing and other procedures are adhered to by the staff at Footprints.
This position will work closely with a small leadership team to shape the vision, growth, and sustainability of the department, ensuring a cohesive customer experience for participants at all stages of their journey.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Compliance Oversight & Quality Assurance:
+ Ensure that all departmental programs adhere to legal, regulatory, and internal compliance standards.
+ Monitor programs at multiple locations, ensuring consistent and high-quality service delivery (including CBI Skills, employment classes, and interventions).
+ Lead compliance investigations and provide coaching support and corrective actions as needed.
Learning and Development Strategy:
+ Collaborate with senior leadership to align training initiatives with departmental and organizational goals.
+ Develop and maintain standardized training content across all locations to ensure consistent messaging and high-quality delivery.
+ Coordinate with location leadership to ensure uniform training delivery and monitor compliance with training guidelines.
+ Facilitate both virtual and in-person training sessions to ensure all employees, regardless of location, have access to consistent resources and learning opportunities.
+ Design and implement training programs focused on skills development and participant growth, with a focus on keeping up with industry trends and employment demands.
+ Evaluate training effectiveness and make adjustments based on feedback, performance metrics, and emerging industry standards.
+ Oversee a comprehensive training calendar and manage the onboarding process with an emphasis on compliance and regulatory training.
+ Oversee the scope of services offered at Footprints residential facility and ensure compliance with licensing requirements and Peckham’s culture is infused throughout service delivery.
Cross-Location Collaboration & Communication:
+ Serve as a key liaison between locations to align goals and ensure consistent service delivery.
+ Communicate compliance and training requirements to staff at all levels to ensure clarity and consistency.
+ Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement by encouraging open communication and collaboration across locations.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
+ Identify opportunities for improvement in training, compliance processes, and service delivery, recommending and implementing best practices.
+ Stay up-to-date on regulatory changes, emerging trends, and new training methodologies to enhance service delivery and participant outcomes.
+ Cultivate relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and employers to enhance program offerings and create new opportunities for participants.
+ Market Peckham’s programs in the community to attract new partnerships and opportunities.
Supervision and Team Leadership:
+ Directly supervise a team of 2-5 employees, ensuring they are trained, supported, and equipped to deliver high-quality services.
+ Coach staff from across the department on curriculum, best practices, and evidence-based strategies to ensure fidelity of program elements are intact.
+ Lead by example, fostering an environment of trust and collaboration, and provide regular coaching and performance feedback.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Promote Peckham’s vision, value, culture, and commitment to excellent customer services to all team members, staff, customers and stakeholders
+ Manage the hiring and training of new team members, ensuring alignment with Peckham’s values and standards.
+ Ensure that all training materials are aligned with best practices and compliance standards.
+ Foster a culture of respect and inclusion
+ Maintain accurate records and documentation for compliance activities and prepare detailed reports for leadership.
+ Participate in cross-functional projects to ensure that program quality and participant experience are consistent across all locations.
+ Maintain a safe and clean work environment
+ Other related duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will supervise 2-5 program staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
+ A Master’s degree in social work, human services, psychology, or a related field and 3-5 years related experience and/or training required.
+ Or 4-10 years of related experience in a relevant field in lieu of degree
+ Must have knowledge of legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements within the human services field.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with workboard, workday, and other online management systems.
+ Strong background in providing career counseling and customer service, with an emphasis on participant success, overcoming barriers, and satisfaction.
+ Ability to develop, lead, and inspire teams across multiple locations. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships.
+ Ability to think strategically and drive continuous improvement across the department.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) or Business Solutions Professional (BSP) certifications preferred.
+ Experience in CBI Skills and other evidence-based curriculum.
+ Strong business acumen and decision-making skills
+ Great communication skills and ability to build strong relationships
+ Results oriented with a strategic mindset
TRAVEL
+ Travel to off-site locations is required up to 40% of the time, and will support teams and services in Genesee and Washtenaw County.
