T&T is seeking a Local Area Network (LAN) Lead to join our dynamic IT team supporting complex telecommunications environments.
About the Role:
The Local Area Network (LAN) Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity, reliability, and performance of the organization’s network infrastructure. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining LAN systems from design through full operational capability. The LAN Lead serves as both a technical expert and a liaison—bridging communication between internal teams, external vendors, and government stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved on time, within scope, and in compliance with all applicable standards.
This role requires a hands-on professional with a deep understanding of network architecture, hardware, software, and security protocols. The LAN Lead will plan and execute network installations and upgrades; perform performance tuning and capacity planning; monitor network health and availability; and respond to incidents with precision and professionalism. The LAN Lead ensures that network solutions are not only technically accurate but also aligned with end-user requirements and mission objectives. The position demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for stakeholders at all levels.
Key aspects of this role include proactive network optimization, compliance with DoD and DLA security and safety standards, and coordination of site-specific implementations. The LAN Lead also contributes to documentation, training, and the establishment of best practices that enhance operational resilience and user satisfaction across supported environments.
Primary Responsibilities:
+ Develop and manage LAN requirements, specifications, and solutions for simple to moderately complex technical challenges.
+ Coordinate and collaborate with technical and project stakeholders to ensure effective implementation and user satisfaction.
+ Provide oversight of network performance, security compliance, and system integrity.
+ Ensure adherence to all DLA and Host Activity site-specific safety and operational standards.
+ Support documentation, testing, and troubleshooting of LAN systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
+ **Certification:** Relevant technical certification from a nationally recognized authority (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, or equivalent).
+ **Experience:** Minimum of five (5) years of progressive LAN experience, including participation on at least two technical task area projects.
+ At least one project must have occurred within the past three (3) years.
+ **Training:** Must complete applicable DLA and Host Activity site-specific safety training and OSHA-compliant Aerial Lift Training before operating Aerial Lifts.
+ **Security Clearance:** Moderate Risk, Secret, Critical Sensitive with Tier 5/SSBI investigation at time of proposal.
+ **8570/8140 Compliance:** DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level I. (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+).
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve technical issues in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
+ Strong working knowledge of LAN/WAN architecture, network protocols, configurations, best practices, and security controls.
+ Excellent communication documentation, organizattional, and coordination skills across technical and non-technical teams.
+ Proven ability to deliver high-quality technical solutions under minimal supervision.
