Overview

The Laundry Worker supports the delivery of services to UnityPoint Health-Des Moines (UPH-DM) and outside clinics through the efficient and timely delivery and management of linens. Utilizes LinenHelper to track and maintain all par locations and deliveries.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed customer expectations.

• Balance team and individual responsibilities; be open and objective to other’s views; give and welcome feedback; contribute to positive team goals; and put the success of the team above own interests.

• Practice reflects knowledge of HIPAA, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.

• Demonstrates the ability to meet the department work schedule.

• Demonstrates the knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors, accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately.

• Count linen exchange carts and restocks par levels, issues, and distributes linens accurately.

• Assists with maintenance of linen levels with accurate and timely data input on LinenHelper.

• Answer the phone and record customer linen request.

• Fill customer requests.

• Collect soiled linen.

• Transport linen carts to various area within the IH-DM; including loading and unloading trucks. (F)

Qualifications

Must be at least 16 yrs old

Experience: Must read, write, speak, and comprehend English fluently
