What We Offer
+ Schedule: PRN, candidates must have flexibility to pick up 7A-7P and/or 7P-7A, this will be based on unit need. No set schedule or guaranteed hours. Unit puts out schedule on a 6 week time tract, self scheduling to fill in staffing gaps. Must be able to orient two shifts per week. Candidates will be required to work some weekends & holidays.

+ Unit Info: This unit opened in March of 2024, it's a low risk, 12 bed LDRP unit. Patients labor, deliver & recover in the same room. This team consists of RN's, Surg Techs, Lactation Consultants, and a dedicated OB Anesthesiologist as well as a 24/7 neonatal NP and respiratory. This position will be scrubbing c-section cases.
+ Candidates must have Labor & Delivery scrub tech experience for this PRN position.
The Surgical Technologist works under the supervision of a surgeon and registered nurse to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Surgical technologists possess expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combine the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
Qualifications
+ Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology program or Military Training Equivalent (68D – Operating Room Specialist). For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or have certification please see additional skills required. Online Surgical Tech program credits will not be accepted.
+ Experience: Previous Surgical Technologist experience, preferred.
+ Licensure/Certification: Current Surgical Tech Certification, preferred.
+ Additional Skills (required): For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or have certification the following additional requirements may apply: recommended for new graduates to obtain certification within 12months of hire. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competency testing. Demonstrate effective and appropriate customer service skills, verbal and nonverbal communication techniques, interpersonal relationship skills, and time management skills.
