    Program: 3rd Street Healthcare Services

     

    Salary: $19.494/hr

     

    Program Overview: The 820 Residential program is a 60-bed all male unit on the2nd and 4th floors of 8 East 3rd Street; it is licensed and funded by the NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) and provides 24-hour case management, medical and counseling services to clients with a history of substance use disorders; the medical clinic is a federally funded Article 28 clinic on the 2nd floor of 8 East 3rd Street providing primary care, psychiatry and other medical services during business hours Mon-Fri; The Recovery Center (TRC) is an OASAS licensed outpatient program serving approximately 100 participants located on the 1st floor of 8 East 3rd Street providing counseling and group therapy services Mon-Sat 8:30 am-6:00 pm.

     

    Position Overview: Under the direction the Assistant Building Manager for Healthcare Services, this position is responsible for supporting the overall upkeep of the healthcare programs at East 3rd Street, including the 820, TRC and the medical clinic. This position also reports to the 820 Program Director.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    + Perform janitorial work, including power-washing, repairs, replacing plumbing fittings, wiping down light fixtures (requiring a ladder), replacing light bulbs, waxing floors, mopping, sweeping, painting, plastering, basic carpentry and operating a buffing machine.

    + Perform garbage duties, including cleaning, sorting metal, and breaking down boxes for weekly pick up.

    + Complete all work orders in a timely manner while providing detailed information regarding the task(s) performed, along with all prescribed/pertinent equipment information.

    + Maintain proper levels of materials/supplies for areas assigned to ensure the timely and efficient completion of necessary tasks.

    + Prepare for possible exposure to unsanitary conditions, unpleasant odors, and hazardous concentrated chemicals.

    + Perform specific duties depending on needs and the assigned floor.

    + Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

     

    Qualifications: HS Diploma required and some custodial experience preferred.
