Job Title: BIW Sealing Product Engineer - Intermediate
Job Description
The BIW Sealing Product Engineer is tasked with overseeing the design, development, and production release of Body-in-White (BIW) sealing components for SRT vehicle carlines. The role involves creating DFMEAs, DVPRs, and performance standards, as well as conducting validation tests for these components. The engineer will support Assembly Plants to ensure components and assemblies align with design intent and perform root cause analysis during plant visits. Additionally, the position includes supporting dry car (water testing), corrosion, and vehicle weight initiatives. The engineer will manage the release of sealing files for all new and carryover SRT programs and components, including baffles, bake-on mastics, plugs, tapes, purfoam, and other sealing components.
Responsibilities
+ Design, develop, and release Body-in-White sealing components.
+ Create DFMEAs, DVPRs, and performance standards for components.
+ Conduct validation tests for sealing components.
+ Support Assembly Plants with design intent application and root cause analysis.
+ Participate in dry car (water testing), corrosion, and vehicle weight initiatives.
+ Manage release sealing files for SRT programs and components.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent technical degree with relevant experience.
+ 2 years of design and development engineering experience in Body-in-White, closures, or exterior systems.
+ 2 years of experience with Unigraphics NX and Team Center.
+ 2 years of launch experience or experience in a production environment.
+ Knowledge of the Change Management Process.
+ Strong root cause analysis skills for field-related issues, including water, CFM, and air loss testing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Strong knowledge of material coatings such as galvanized, e-coat, and multiple coatings for BIW.
+ Familiarity with lab procedures and product testing.
+ Experience with bulk sealing and adhesive materials.
+ Open to entry-level engineers or graduates.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $42.96 - $42.96/hr.
