    Job Title: Manufacturing TechnicianJob Description

     

    This is an exciting opportunity to join the Microbiology Division, where you will work on products that make a difference in a manufacturing setting. Operators are responsible for assisting with the manufacturing process of agars by loading products, checking volumes, quality, and more.

    Responsibilities

    + Execute the daily production schedule for Filling, Labeling, or Kit Packaging using manual and automated processes.

    + Follow standard operating procedures and good document practices.

    + Work both individually and as a team member to ensure all assigned tasks are completed daily.

    + Understand and carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.

    + Communicate status updates to department leads.

    + Organize production flow, ensure materials are available, estimate line progress, and schedule breaks according to the production time schedule in a safe manner.

    + Document accurately and check personal work for quality and compliance, monitor products for defects, and assist with the inventory process.

    + Accurately dispense required additives to media and perform pH balance techniques as needed.

    + Investigate and remedy possible production failures.

    + Follow all written procedures and report discrepancies in procedures to the Area Supervisor.

    + Perform all work activities safely and wear personal protective equipment as required.

    + Complete production assignments timely and according to departmental schedules.

    + Sign off on DHRs in proper places and fill in pertinent information according to SOPs.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in manufacturing, GMP, and production support.

    + Basic math skills.

    + Ability to comprehend and communicate using the English language.

    + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 600 lb wheeled kettles.

    + Ability to stand for approximately 10 hours a day.

    + Ability to see and distinguish colors.

    + Ability to work quickly without reducing quality.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.

    + Willingness to take initiative and seek out the next assignment.

    + Science AS or BS degree is a plus, but not required.

    Work Environment

    The work environment includes laboratory and cleanroom settings. The role operates on the 1st shift, from 6 am to 2:30 pm, and provides exposure to large-scale manufacturing and GMP practices. This position offers a great entry point into the science field with training opportunities and potential for advancement.

    This is a Contract position based out of FREDERICK, MD.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $19.17 - $19.17/hr.
