Job Title: Energy Efficiency Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking an Energy Efficiency Manager to partner with ENR Top 5 Global Design firm in providing comprehensive energy management consulting in Monterey, CA. The role involves identifying energy conservation opportunities, facilitating project implementation, and promoting environmental sustainability. You will act as a liasion to drive energy and cost savings, while achieving federal and military objectives. This position requires conducting energy and water audits, developing projects ranging from large capital improvements to smaller initiatives, and having a strong understanding of HVAC, lighting, and control systems.
Responsibilities
+ Manage energy efficiency programs and initiatives.
+ Conduct facility walkthroughs to perform energy audits and identify conservation opportunities.
+ Develop and propose energy efficiency improvements for various facilities.
+ Explore and develop distributed generation and renewable energy projects.
+ Conduct design reviews and analyze energy and utility data.
+ Recommend enhancements to energy and utility procurement operations and maintenance.
+ Assist in the construction and implementation of energy projects.
+ Write technically sound audit and other reports.
Essential Skills
+ Energy efficiency and management experience.
+ Customer service and project management skills.
+ Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification or commitment to obtain within six months.
+ Proficiency in HVAC and control systems.
+ Experience with energy audits, project scoping, development, and management.
+ Understanding of energy guidance documents such as California Energy Codes.
+ Familiarity with Executive Orders and relevant energy regulations.
+ Knowledge of direct digital controls and capability to review system operations.
+ Proficiency in solar project modeling software such as SAM or RETScreen.
+ Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Four-year engineering degree (preferably in mechanical or electrical) with a minimum of three years of experience.
+ Environmental Science, business, or related degree with at least five years of experience.
+ Two-year technical degree with at least eight years of experience.
+ Non-degreed candidates with a minimum of ten years of experience in energy management.
+ Proven performance in project management for lighting and mechanical system retrofits.
+ Experience in solar PV project development and building automation system controls.
+ Ability to achieve substantial energy savings and develop an energy baseline.
+ Knowledge of utility rate/tariff structures and ability to evaluate utility billings.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment
This role is based onsite at a military base and involves significant walking, standing, climbing, and entering narrow mechanical rooms. The position requires a physical ability to carry out these tasks. The opportunity offers a stable, long-term program with a leading engineering firm committed to innovation and sustainability. A signing bonus is available after six months of employment.

This is a Contract to Hire or direct hire position based out of Monterey, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $64.00/hr.
