Under limited direction, partners with the Human Resources Director and the Human Resources Management team to provide senior leadership across the department; oversees the employee and labor relations functions, serving as the chief negotiator in collective bargaining with employee unions; advises City leadership on complex labor and employee relations matters, while fostering a collaborative and solutions-oriented culture built on trust, transparency, and mutual respect; and performs related duties as assigned.
Note:
Pursuant to the Henderson City Charter, this is an unclassified position not covered by the City of Henderson Civil Service Rules. This means that the incumbent's employment is at-will, and may be terminated with or without cause or notice, at any time by the incumbent or the City.
Salary and Benefits
+ Competitive Salary Range of $122,833.74 - $187,294.13 annually; salary placement for non-represented positions is based on a comprehensive compensation review and takes into consideration the candidate's qualifications as well as internal equity*

Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources Management, or a related field
+ Seven (7) years of advanced level human resources experience which included a minimum of five (5) years of employee and labor relations experience including serving in a principal negotiation role with demonstrated success
+ Note: An equivalent combination of related education, experience, and training may be considered
+ Must pass a nationwide fingerprint-based record check, and a wants/warrants check
+ Must complete Security Awareness and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) certification within six months of hire/transfer and be recertified every year. Must maintain certifications in NCIC/NCJIS as a condition of continued employment
+ Desirable: Juris Doctorate
+ Desirable: Master’s degree in a related field
+ Desirable: Experience working in multiple Human Resources functional areas
+ Desirable: Certification as an HR professional through the Public Sector Human Resources Association or the Society for Human Resources Management
