Pharmacy Technician – Oncology Department
BJC/Saint Luke’s Hospital – Kansas City, MO
BJC/Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, is seeking a **Pharmacy Technician** to join our **Oncology Department** . This position plays a vital role in supporting pharmacists by preparing, compounding, distributing, and maintaining medication inventory in accordance with established procedures and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Accurately pick, fill, and deliver medication orders and Omnicell stock to designated areas.
+ Prepare and compound medications, including sterile products, chemotherapy agents, and specialized dosage forms (e.g., topicals, oral liquids).
+ Maintain appropriate inventory levels and assist in restocking supplies within the pharmacy department.
+ Respond to phone and window inquiries, assisting with medication requests and general questions.
+ Participate in departmental and technician meetings as required.
Qualifications:
+ Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required within 18 months of hire.
+ Previous experience in a hospital or oncology pharmacy setting preferred.
+ Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
