The Spencerport School District is currently accepting applications for a Secretary II (confidential) 12-month, supporting the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and the Human Resources Office.
Candidates must be eligible for appointment as Secretary II, as per the rules and regulations of the Monroe County Department of Human Resources and Civil Service.
Job Description: This confidential position supports the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and the Human Resources office, requiring the handling of sensitive and confidential information with discretion. This role processes attendance for all employees while providing clerical support for administrative functions and correspondence. Responsibilities include managing office operations including calendar coordination, phone and email communication, supplies, facility use, and digital communication; utilizing computerized systems to input data and access relevant reports, communications, and pertinent data; processing employee attendance and leave requests based on bargaining unit and employment contracts; managing year-end attendance rollover; assisting and communicating with employees, applicants, and retirees; maintaining all department filing; creating and assisting with mailings, hiring paperwork, correspondence, and confidential documents; providing greeter coverage; and other duties as assigned. Required Credentials, per Civil Service: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma plus EITHER:(A) Graduation with an Associate's degree; OR(B) Successful completion of at least thirty (30) college semester credit hours, plus one (1) year paid full-time or its part-time equivalent office clerical or secretarial experience; OR,(C) Two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as defined in (B) above; OR,(D) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), and (C) above.*Experience as a Teller, Cashier, or Sales Clerk will not be considered appropriate experience for the purposes of these minimum qualifications.Preferred Credentials: Successful experience in a professional office environment,Experience handling confidential employee/office information,Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism,Excellent interpersonal and communication skills,Strong analytical skills with ability to review data and identify trends or discrepancies,Highly skilled in computer applications; preferred experience in WinCap, Frontline, Excel,Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively,Highly organized with exemplary time management skills.Work Year: 12-month assignment; 8.0 hours per day
