    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The E-Commerce Web Planner is responsible for the online merchandising and customer experience on Menards.com and the Menards mobile app. This role combines the strategic discipline of merchandise planning with the creative execution of digital experience design. The Web Planner ensures products, content, and customer journeys are optimized to drive conversion, enhance usability, and align with the Menards brand standards.

     

    A successful E-Commerce Web Planner will translate directives and data insights into intuitive digital layouts, coordinate across multiple departments, and ensure Menards.com represents the same excellence and customer-friendly experience found in our stores.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Digital Merchandising & Layout Planning

     

    + Coordinate and execute updates to digital category pages, promotional areas, and product adjacencies within assigned departments.

    + Ensure online planograms and page layouts reflect merchandising strategy, promote optimal product flow, and align with analytics-driven insights.

    + Work collaboratively with Merchants and E-Commerce Team Members to develop engaging, customer-friendly online displays and content.

    + Perform A/B tests and journey mapping to evaluate digital layout effectiveness and make continuous improvements.

     

    Customer Journey & Experience

     

    + Design and implement customer journeys across Menards.com and the Menards mobile app that align with brand strategy and improve KPIs.

    + Optimize cornerstone pages, buying guides, and promotional content for clarify, relevance, and conversion.

    + Collaborate with Merchandising, Operations, Manufacturing, and other teams to ensure online-to-store continuity, including digital elements that connect to in-store signage or promotions.

    + Monitor and analyze user behavior and web metrics to refine journey flows and enhance the customer experience.

     

    Systems, Tasks & Communication

     

    + Maintain digital blueprints, content inventories, and templates used in the Menards online ecosystem.

    + Communicate page and layout updates through internal systems and ensure accuracy in execution.

    + Work closely with technical teams to ensure category pages and product listings are correctly configured and displayed.

    + Support new feature rollouts, online promotions, and seasonal updates.

    + Provide feedback to the E-Commerce General Manager and Web Merchandiser on performance, opportunities, and technical needs.

    + Other tasks as assigned by the E-Commerce Web Merchandiser or E-Commerce General Manager.

     

    Innovation & Optimization

     

    + Stay informed on contemporary web trends, e-commerce design best practices, and emerging technologies that support Menards' online presence.

    + Apply creative problem-solving to improve online merchandising and digital storytelling.

    + Test and iterate page elements to drive engagement and conversion.

    + Ensure all work reflects the Menards guest-first philosophy - simple, efficient, and friendly.

    Skills/Requirements

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    + 1–3 years of experience in merchandising, e-commerce, or web content management preferred.

    + Analytical, detail-oriented, organized, and creative with strong problem-solving skills.

    + Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web content management systems a plus.

    + Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is beneficial.

    + Strong time management, multi-tasking, and prioritization abilities under tight deadlines.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working across multiple teams.

    + Must be able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

    + Relocation to Eau Claire, WI, is required.
