BAE Systems Maritime Solutions site in Jacksonville, Florida is hiring for a NDT Level III Examiner. In this role as a NDT Level III Examiner, you will be responsible for Military and Commercial Ship Repair. Responsible for the Maritime Solutions Jacksonville (JMS) Non-Destructive Test (NDT) program, you will oversee and be responsible for maintaining the NDT program including the development of the Welder Workmanship Program for BAE Systems' JMS welders. You will develop and maintain NDT procedures, certify NDT inspectors, maintain procedures and inspector certification documentation, audit subcontractor's NDT programs, supervise NDT Inspectors, review NDT reports, document nonconformances, and actively participate in corrective/preventive action activities. In this role, you'll devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the compliance of products. You'll serve as an in-house resource and subject matter expert in NDT processes for Radiographic Testing, Ultrasonic Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing, Penetrant Testing, and Visual Testing.
Included duties:
+ Lead BAE Systems' NDT program in support of projects or portions of multiple projects, within established guidelines.
+ Develop, manage, and maintain NDT resources for assigned work scope, schedule, and quality for all assigned projects.
+ Liaison with customers (internal) and other contractors (external) as it pertains to the execution of NDT.
+ Develop and execute processes and procedures to meet management and project requirements.
+ Put together briefs and/or reports on the status of NDT for BAE Systems JMS and subcontractors.
+ Ensure NDT requirements are met.
+ Initiate corrective action to support task problems and failures.
+ Develop and implement NDT Surveillance plans for workmanship and acceptance testing for organic crafts, fabrication, commercial and subcontracted work.
+ Support internal and external audits.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Typically requires a Degree in Engineering or a Technical field and six years experience, or the overall equivalent.
+ Experience within the maritime / shipbuilding / ship repair industry with NAVSEA or private shipyard background.
+ Direct knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing methods VT, PT, MT, UT in compliance with MIL-STD 271, American Bureau of Standards, ASNT-TC-1A.
+ Practical experience in development and approval of Welder Workmanship Standards in accordance with NAVSEA Standards (i.e MIL-STD 248) and commercial standards (i.e ABS, ASME, or AWS D1.1).
+ Direct knowledge of the requirements of MIL-STDs 1689/1688/278/22D for structural and piping work for fabrication and repair of Naval vessels.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Development and implementation of Quality Management Systems Standard Operating Procedures per 9001:2015 standards.
+ Naval Shipbuilders NDT Level III certifications.
+ Knowledge of management and storage requirements for welding materials including level 1/Subsafe program requirements.
+ Knowledge of Welding techniques and related requirements.
+ Lead Auditor certification 9001:2015.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $90373 - $153634
