    Our Cardiovascular Testing team plays a key role in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of heart and vascular diseases. The team performs a wide range of diagnostic tests that provide information needed to create effective and life-saving treatment plans that enable excellent patient care across Union Health. This role reports to the Manager of Cardiovascular Testing. Essential & valuable skills gained (in this unit or in this department):

     

    +

     

    + + Prepares room for procedure.

    + Stocks supplies.

    + Cleans patient rooms and equipment as required.

    + Has thorough knowledge of cardiac and/or vascular anatomy and function.

    + Performs echocardiograms and/or vascular studies independently or with little assistance per department protocols.

    + Produce, assess, and evaluate ultrasound images and related data that are used by physicians to render a medical diagnosis following practice standards and practices.

    + Utilizes imaging software and follows protocols to prepare a preliminary report for the interpreting physician.

    + Maintains a proper functioning and safe work environment by maintaining equipment and reporting any malfunctions to the supervisor.

    + Makes beds.

    + Assists with ambulation and transporting.

    + Applies basic computer skills.

    Essential Job Duties:

    Qualifications:

    + + Must be enrolled in an accredited Associate or Baccalaureate Degree Cardiac Sonographer Program leading to a degree.

    + Current enrollment and successful progression in an Associate or Baccalaureate Cardiac Sonographer Program is required for initial or continued employment with a RDCS or RCS registry obtained within 3 months of program completion.

    + CPR-BLS is required
