Course title: Philosophy of Religion, Spring 2026
Harvard Divinity School invites applications for an adjunct position in the Philosophy of Religion, with a focus on modern and contemporary continental philosophy of religion, to teach one course in the Spring 2026 semester as a part-time, adjunct academic appointment. The final appointment title will depend on the academic qualifications of the successful candidate (possibly lecturer or instructor).
Candidates should be competent in the appropriate research relevant to this field and should be familiar with forms of analysis that address race, gender, and social location.
Class meetings during the academic year are held preferably once or twice per week during the Spring semester. The instruction will be in-person at the HDS campus in Cambridge, MA. HDS Employees are required to reside in the larger New England area within commuting distance.
Basic Qualifications
Applicants should demonstrate the following qualifications:
(1) completed advanced degree (completed PhD or advanced ABD candidates preferred)
(2) prior experience teaching at the graduate level (masters and doctoral students)
(3) sensibility to a multi-religious, diverse student body.
Fluency in all the relevant research approaches and religious studies are required. Candidates should demonstrate experience and excellence in teaching. Publications in the area of the appointment are desirable, though not required.
