    The Mechanical Technician will perform a variety of technical tasks in support of engineering, quality control, production, and sustainment environments. The technician will work under the guidance of a lab lead to perform tests, troubleshoot, repair, maintain and install a wide variety of electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical, and/or radio frequency equipment. The applicant in this role will be expected to work independently, taking the initiative to complete tasks with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with team members as needed.

    What You Will Do:

    + Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions to ensure accurate assembly.

    + Operate hand tools, electrical tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment, and light equipment efficiently to perform assembly tasks.

    + Maintain inventory of products in assigned workstations, ensuring materials are readily available for ongoing operations.

    + Perform quality work checks, identify product defects, and accurately record and identified defects for corrective action.

    + Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products based on engineering specification changes to meet quality standards.

    + Adhere to all quality standards and established safety procedures, ensuring compliance and a high standard of work.

    + Maintain a clean and safe work area, promoting efficiency and safety.

    + Lift up to 25 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation, ensuring safe material handling.

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    + Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience.

    + Experience with IPC and/or electronics manufacturing.

    + Ability to obtain **Interim** Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

    Qualifications We Prefer:

    + Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

    + Data entry experience with and industry ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) such as SAP-PRISM, EAGLE and Microsoft 365.

    + Experience with Soldering.

    + Experience with ASE.

    The salary range for this role is 40,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

     

    RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

     

    Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

     

    This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
