Description:
You would perform a variety of complex laboratory tests and procedures on neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients according to established standards: maintains and/or calibrates scientific equipment. Provides teaching and education to lab students and other personnel. Position may require working at any location of the System.
What you will do:
+ Determines normal and abnormal components of body fluids by conducting chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices.
+ Analyzes blood cells by counting and identifying cells, using microscopic techniques and procedures
+ Ensures operation of analyzers and all laboratory equipment by calibrating; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Position Hours:
+ 40 hours, Day Shifts, rotating wknds/holidays
Requirements** **_:_
+ BS in Medical Technology or AS in Medical Lab Technology
+ MT-ASCP or MLT-ASCP. Or must be eligible to take Certification exam and achieve certification within the first year of employment.
+ Blood Bank experience preferred.
