The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting, developing, and enhancing EHS compliance and risk management processes. This position is vital for driving understanding and engagement to improve EHS performance across the portfolio, influencing business unit leadership, and integrating EHS into daily operations. The role involves executing compliance programs, aligning with global EHS policies, and building relationships with stakeholders to achieve compliance.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and implement environmental, health, and safety programs, tools, and standards.
+ Conduct investigations of working conditions to prevent occupational diseases and industrial health hazards.
+ Promote EHS awareness through effective employee communications and participation.
+ Serve as the key point of contact for safety and environmental issues.
+ Support regulated waste management, including consolidation and inspections.
+ Conduct compliance tasks such as stormwater sampling, waste inspections, chemical inventory, and life safety audits.
+ Execute compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and customer requirements.
+ Conduct and support EHS audits, develop action plans, and implement countermeasures promptly.
+ Perform risk assessments for new processes and equipment.
+ Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics for reporting.
+ Recommend risk mitigation measures related to ergonomics.
+ Establish and manage the safety committee.
+ Drive continual improvement efforts to reduce site safety and environmental risk.
+ Support site stand-up meetings, safety committees, and floor inspections.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in EHS support, particularly in warehousing.
+ Knowledge of EHS regulations and OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
+ Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security and personnel issues.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree or higher in industrial hygiene, occupational health, environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related field, or relevant experience.
+ Minimum of 1 year of experience in EHS support.
+ Manufacturing plant experience, not construction.
Work Environment
This position is based at the Everett site, with a 2nd Shift schedule from 5pm to 3:30am, working four 10-hour shifts from Sunday to Wednesday. Candidates must be willing to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and/or weekends. Please specify shift and location preference upon application.

This is a Contract position based out of Everett, Washington.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
