Job Description
Position Purpose:
Provide instrument, controls, and electrical systems engineering support required to maintain all aspects of site instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems. Provide similar function in support of construction projects.
Primary Duties /Responsibilities:
+ Lead electrical and instrumentation projects and/or maintenance work to ensure compliance with the national electrical code and site permits
+ Participate in the development of project design concepts and criteria
+ Provide and modify instrument and electrical drawings as needed
+ Write and/or modify programs used by site programmable logic controllers, programmable drives, human machine interfaces, and distributive control systems
+ Prepare electrical and instrumentation estimates for projects
+ Act as a project manager or proposal manager on small, electrical and instrumentation projects
+ Monitor project progress for technical accuracy and adherence to schedule and budget
+ Represent respective projects at meetings and conferences
+ Provide technical support for the facility's instrument and electrical maintenance department
Qualifications
Education / Experience / Background:
+ 3 - 5 years of experience in a similar position
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
+ Working knowledge of various PLC and computer software packages
+ Fundamental understanding of the process safety management (PSM) standard is a plus
