About the role Leviton is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Manager to lead and coordinate new product development (NPD) projects ranging from medium to high complexity. In this cross-functional role, you will oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with Leviton’s established phase/gate process and driving successful execution from concept to launch. As a Project Manager, you will collaborate with key departments including Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Marketing, and Sourcing, fostering a team-oriented environment focused on achieving project goals. While this role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities, it requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to influence and guide cross-functional teams. Responsibilities Lead cross-functional teams through all stages of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, from initial concept and product design to manufacturing integration and final product launch. Develop, manage, and report on comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets, incorporating input from internal stakeholders and leadership. Identify and recommend resources—including staffing and financial investments—required to meet project goals and ensure successful execution. Apply effective project meeting management techniques, including setting agendas, facilitating discussions, documenting meeting minutes, and tracking action items. Resolve project roadblocks and proactively address issues that may impact timelines, quality, or budget. Engage leadership support when needed to maintain project momentum and overcome challenges. Foster a culture of team collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across all project phases. Train and mentor team members on the NPI process, and recommend enhancements to improve product quality, reduce costs, and ensure on-time delivery. Perform additional project-related duties as assigned to support business objectives. Qualifications Demonstrates a high level of creativity, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills to collaborate effectively across departments and drive project success. Proven ability to analyze and resolve process and procedural challenges, implementing practical and scalable solutions. Skilled in developing and delivering executive-level presentations, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly to senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders. Strong aptitude for solving real-world problems, managing multiple variables, and making data-driven decisions under pressure. Effective at motivating and influencing cross-functional teams, including individuals outside of direct reporting lines, to achieve shared goals and maintain accountability. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering is required. Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, including at least 3 years in project management within a manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience in new product development (NPD) using structured phase/gate processes. Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project for project scheduling and tracking. PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus and highly preferred.
