Job Title: Certification Reviewer- Atlanta
Pay Grade: M
Workplace: Remote
Travel: 25% statewide
Job Summary:
Conducts compliance reviews of providers for adherence with rules, regulations, standards, and policies, primarily focusing on intellectual/developmental disability (I/DD) providers supporting individuals through a variety of community services. Acts as subject matter expert in required areas. Supports compliance reviews of behavioral health providers, as needed. Functions as a resource within the Division of Strategy, Technology, and Performance based upon the critical needs at any given time.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Maintains working knowledge of all rules, requirements, policies, provider manuals etc. that are used to evaluate provider performance.
• Evaluates provider performance and draws conclusions based on evidence provided to develop findings of deficiency and/or to certify a provider.
• Prepares detailed, thorough, and accurate review findings by incorporating data analysis, data interpretation, policies and rules which describe complex and/or technical information that can sustain legal challenge.
• Works closely with other staff to ensure the review survey instrument adequately reflects provider requirements, policy, rules, regulations, laws, etc.
• Acts as subject matter expert in field of expertise.
• Serves as team lead during reviews.
• Conducts onsite visits to evaluate environmental compliance of I/DD facilities and homes.
• Completes accurate, thorough, and timely entry of data into multiple databases.
• Communicates effectively and professionally, verbally and in writing, with providers and other stakeholders, including other DBHDD offices and divisions.
• Provides technical assistance to providers regarding policy, rules, and regulation requirements.
• Uses critical thinking to determine risks to individuals being served.
• Represents DBHDD professionally during all interactions with providers and stakeholders.
• Travels statewide, approximately 25%, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of DBHDD services, especially I/DD service settings such as Community Residential Alternative, Community Living Supports, Community Access Services, Supported Employment, and Prevocational services.
• Experience conducting audits in I/DD service settings.
• Exceptional computer skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
