Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a **Principal** **Engineer NDT/ Sr. Principal Engineer NDT** to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in **El Segundo, CA** where technology and teamwork come together. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Mission Assurance organization working in a collaborative environment while promoting a positive and proactive teamwork environment.
Responsible for the inspection composite aerospace components, and other energetic and non-energetic articles. This position is responsible for developing and implementing unique nondestructive inspection techniques, methods, and procedures. Works with design, project and quality engineers through the development process to select and implement the best NDT method to ensure product quality at lowest cost.
Principal NDT Engineer
+ B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related STEM field with 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing, quality, or engineering environment, 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD., 9 years’ experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
+ A minimum of one Level 3 certification in accordance with NAS 410, Radiography (RT), Ultrasonic (UT), or Eddy Current (ET). Records of certification and experience are required.
+ Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. Citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Sr. Principal NDT Engineer
+ B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related STEM field with 8 years’ experience in a manufacturing, quality, or engineering environment, 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD., 13 years’ experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
+ Holding for at least 2 years one Level 3 certification in accordance with NAS 410 in Radiography (RT), Ultrasonic (UT), or Eddy Current (ET). Records of certification and experience are required.
+ Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. Citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Multiple Level II/III ASNT certifications
+ Phased -Array or MAUS experience
+ DoD Secret Clearance
+ Special Program Access
Primary Level Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
