At **Northrop Grumman Defense Systems** , we have an exceptional opportunity for a **Test Inspection Manager** to support our Armament Systems business site in **Plymouth, MN.**
This site develops and produces medium- and large-caliber ammunition as well as precision capabilities for direct and indirect fire systems. Leading the industry, this team successfully completes lifecycle support for medium-caliber cannons, develops miniature, precision strike weapons for airborne platforms, creates survivability solutions for soldiers and the next generation tactical ammunition for a variety of combat platforms
Job Description
Manages the Inspection organization within the Plymouth, MN facility. Responsible for the direct supervision/management of in-process inspection for conceptual, developmental and production buildings. This role will be responsible for employees who test and/or inspect products to determine compliance with specifications.
Key responsibilities include:
+ Direct management responsibility for approximately 10 direct inspection reports.
+ Assures high quality products, services, and solutions throughout the inspection life cycles.
+ Ensures compliance with quality inspection requirements.
+ Assists with inspection needs throughout the Test Inspection Organization.
+ Establish key process indicators / measures to assess inspection success and performance.
+ Implement and audit Quality Management System (QMS) business policies and processes, IAW quality objectives and contract quality requirements.
+ May participate in product / program nonconformance reviews and corrective action review board.
Basic Qualifications:
This position emphasizes skills first
+ Must have 9 years of Test Inspection experience. May consider Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience.
+ Extensive experience with inspection equipment, standards, and requirements (CMM, VMM, Surface Plate, Hand Gages, Hardness, Soldering, Adhesives, Circuit Boards, Finishing, Plating, Coatings, Assemblies (Mechanical, Electronic), Fasteners. Machining, Sheet Metal, Electronic Assembly, Castings, Metal Stamping, etc.
+ Extensive experience with documenting and reviewing inspection plans and methods.
+ Strong understanding of AS9100/ISO9001 & AS9102 requirements
+ IPC-A-610 – Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies: Cl 3 (High Quality)
+ J-STD-001 – Requirements for Soldering Electrical/Electronic Assemblies (Matls/Methods/Test/Process Control)
+ Familiarity with NIST – Natl Institute of Stds & Technology (Measurement, Standards, Technology) Calibration Labs, Cyber-Security, Handbook 44 (Weights/Measures, Insp Methods)
+ Strong understanding and application of statistical methods and data analytics expertise – (Mini-Tab, QI Macros)
+ Strong written and verbal communication and formal presentation skills
+ May be required to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
+ US Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience managing teams within one or more of the following areas: Mission Assurance, Supply Chain Management, Systems Engineering, Quality Engineering, or Manufacturing / Process Engineering, or Equivalent
+ ASQ Certifications such as CQE, CQI, CQT, CQM/OE, etc.
+ Experience with Minitab or equivalent statistical software
+ Process-focused ISO9001/AS9100 audit experience
Primary Level Salary Range: $93,100.00 - $139,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
