    This Nursing Professional Development Practitioner position will support the Procedural Services service line on the Nursing Professional Development team. This NPD practitioner will support different areas of the service line such as the OR, PACU, Bellevue Surgery Center, Interventional Radiology, Radiology Recovery, GI Lab, and PA-C.

     

    Adheres to the nursing professional development (NPD) core competencies as defined by the Association for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) scopes and standards of practice. Supports the transition of nurses and other team members across practice environments and professional stages through onboarding and orientation, competency management, and role development. Uses the educational design process to address knowledge, skill, and practice gaps at the individual and team levels.

     

    Evaluates clinical and professional performance and provides coaching in collaboration with unit or department leaders. Provides leadership through continuous process improvement and supports program development, organizational mission, vision, values, and strategic goals. Collaborates to support nursing quality, patient safety, and health equity within defined patient populations.

     

    Required Education and Experience

     

    Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from accredited School of Nursing.

    Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience in related specialty.

    Experience with education, professional development or teaching in a clinical learning environment.

    Required Credentials

    Current Washington State RN License.

    Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); Pediatric Emergency, Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS), or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will be accepted in lieu of BLS.

    PEARS or PALS certification required within 3 months.

    PEARS or PALS Instructor Certification obtained within 12 months.

    National certification in a clinical specialty area must be obtained within 3 years.

    As per the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), for RN's performing moderately complex point-of-care testing, a copy of a diploma or transcript of the highest level of academic achievement is to be on record with Human Resources upon hire.

    For personnel trained outside of the U.S., records of diploma/transcript must provide documented equivalency evaluation by a foreign credentialing agency.

     

    Preferred

     

    Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field.

    Leadership experience.

    Demonstrated experience in clinical education program development.

    Demonstrated experience with continuous quality improvement processes.

    National certification in Nursing Professional Development (NPD-BC).

     

    Compensation Range

     

    $118,174.00 - $177,262.00 per year

     

    Salary Information

     

    This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
