The Control Systems (CS) Environmental Control Systems (ECS) organization is seeking a **Lead Dynamic Modeling Systems Engineer** to join their team. This position will involve working on a variety of aircraft, including Air Transport, Regional, Business, Urban Air Mobility, and Military aircraft.
Reporting to the ECS Control Systems Integration Senior Manager, the Lead Dynamic Modeling Systems Engineer will be responsible for leading the development of ECS system dynamic models, performing transient simulation and system characterization. In addition, the engineer will lead system and component development testing to aid in model validation as well as system/software requirements.
Key Responsibilities
+ Create and maintain system level dynamic models including run time performance optimization, model validation against component and system test data and generation of model documentation. Conduct dynamic simulation in support of various program level objectives.
+ Provide definition and oversight of system and equipment level key dynamic characteristics and generation / validation of associated requirements. Maintenance of system level characteristic data for use on future product development.
+ System Integration Test Support including facility architecture and requirements, test model definition, characterization test plans/procedures, test execution support and data processing/review.
+ Presentation and coordination of dynamic analysis results and conclusions to external customers and internal stakeholders including communication with chief engineering and technical management. Technical focal point for control system / dynamics Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) Investigations.
+ System Requirements definition and validation analysis including architecture, functionality and dynamic performance.
+ Document and develop dynamic analysis and modeling best practices including Model Architecting, Analysis Execution/Reporting, Model Validation, and Cycle Producibility Reviews.
+ Lead/Support proposal efforts for new business opportunities including dynamic analysis strategy, cost estimation and schedule planning.
+ Provide team mentorship and develop technical and process skills within the ECS organization.
YOU MUST HAVE
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
+ 10+ years of plant modeling/simulation experience
WE VALUE
+ Master's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace or Electrical Engineering.
+ Technical excellence and leadership. Proven track record of ability to produce high quality technical results and achieve milestones on time and within budget.
+ Expertise with physics based dynamic modeling and analysis of air and thermal systems (pressure and flow management, heat transfer)
+ Simulation and automation expertise using Matlab/Simulink, Parallel Computing Toolbox, Cluster Computing, Python, Visual Basic, etc.
+ Technical expertise in control system design (closed loop control, logic definition).
+ Strong, effective verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to learn quickly and adapt to an environment with dynamic process and program needs.
+ Experience with Aerospace System, Hardware and Software development processes and standards (ARP 4754A, DO-178C, DO-254).

Pay Range for Torrance, CA, United States location:
The annual base salary range for this position is $144,000.00 to $179,000.00. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
