The Canine Instructor I will support research and development activities by assisting with canine training, handling, and overall development. This role involves ensuring the health, welfare, and proper care of program canines, maintaining equipment and facilities, and participating in outreach initiatives. Additional duties may be assigned to support the mission and objectives of the Canine Performance Sciences Program. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with a one-year appointment, expected to end on **October 31, 2026** . Candidates must meet the minimum age requirements, be U.S. nationals, and successfully complete all required onboarding procedures. Essential Functions TheTES Canine Instructor support theCPS Program by performing tasks including but not limited to: + Canine handling, training, acclimation, socialization, and care to support research and development activities. + Applying behavioral conditioning principles for working/research dog development. + Evaluating and documenting canine performance and behavior. + Transporting dogs locally and out-of-state, requiring overnight travel. + Assisting withCPS program operations, including outreach and public engagement.
