Xylem is looking for a Regional Industrial Electrical Technician to support our locations primarily in the Birmingham, AL and surrounding areas to service our water treatment equipment at customer sites in the surrounding area.
What your day will look like as a Regional Industrial Electrical Technician
The Regional Industrial Electrical Technician will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial electrical and instrumentation systems, including motor controls, PLCs, VFDs, and instrumentation loops. This position requires a strong electrical background and candidates with exposure to Allen-Bradley or Siemens software/programming are especially encouraged to apply.
Technicians will dispatch from home, travel to project sites as needed, and provide both field service and remote support. This position averages 50% travel, typically Monday through Friday, with occasional overnight stays and no regular weekend work. Occasional air travel may be required for sites located further away. On-call duties will be shared among the team to support our Hamilton, MS site.

Position Requirements for Regional Industrial Electrical Technicians
+ High school diploma or equivalent required
+ 3+ years of experience in electrical, instrumentation, or industrial maintenance roles
+ Strong knowledge of motor controls, PLCs, VFDs, and electrical schematics
+ Experience with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs a strong plus
+ Ability to perform field installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems
+ Comfortable working in industrial environments and following lockout/tagout and electrical safety standards
+ Proficient in reading electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs
+ Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally
+ Ability to pass background check, drug screen, MVR, and physical
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Approximately 50% weekly travel Monday–Friday (home on weekends).
PAY RANGE
The estimated pay range for this position is between $28.34 and $38.80 per hour. Starting pay is dependent on factors such as skills, experience, and work location.
