    BAE Systems Maritime Solutions Jacksonville is hiring a highly skilled Scaffolding Craft Manager. The applicant will be responsible for oversight of our scaffolding team and ensure all aspects of scaffold construction, alteration, and dismantling are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be decisive, attentive to detail, and proficient in managing multiple tasks within tight deadlines. Directly supervises Scaffolding staff. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all materials. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include participate with the HR Department in the process of interviewing, hiring and training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

     

    + Oversee the daily operations related to scaffolding on the construction site.Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and maintain a secure job environment.Coordinate the assembly and dismantling of scaffolding structures in accordance with project needs.Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks on scaffolding materials and equipment.Train and supervise scaffolding teams, providing guidance and feedback.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other construction professionals to facilitate effective project execution.Prepare reports and documentation concerning scaffolding operations.Assist in the resolution of any scaffolding-related issues that arise on site.Proven experience as a Scaffolding Supervisor or similar role in the construction industry.Strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to scaffolding.

    + Excellent leadership and team management skills.Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematic drawings.Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks on scaffolding materials and equipmentFinal inspect the scaffold prior to initial occupationInspect scaffolds after changes or alterations have been madeAttach inspection tags indicating the scaffold is safe to use or taken out of service if unsafeTrain and supervise scaffolding teamsProvide guidance and feedbackTrain other competent persons, scaffold erectors, and usersPrepare reports and documentation concerning scaffolding operations

    + Schedule all scaffolding work and assign to the workers. Oversee work to ensure satisfaction for the customers.Develop, and manage leads and projects.Compile and put together proposals.Communicate with customers concerning the management of projects.Calculate and compile material needed for the projects.Track projects progress on costs.Provide monthly billing for projects.Advise customers of repairs and estimated cost of repairs. Charge out all service, customer, internal and warranty tickets in a timely, profitable manner.Work with customers to resolve any complaints.Maintain a clean and work area at all times.Keep special tools up-to-date.Conduct regular weekly meetings.Control nonproductive time, breaks, protected time off, sick leave, and personal leave.Provide programs to ensure the productivity of each employee.Assure that at least one person is qualified to fill any specific job position including the manager's position.Develop programs to upgrade all employees capable of and desiring advancement.Attend training classes and store meetings.Work harmoniously with all co-workers.Assist other department personnel to ensure customer satisfaction.Establish and maintain good client/vendor relations.Attract, train, and retain critical skilled personnel; takes quick action to fill vacancies, provides performance management to subordinates; provides development for team, minimizes voluntary turnover.Ensure all subordinate employees understand the direction, plans, and monthly results of the service department through

    Required Education, Experience, & Skills

    + 14 years of experience in the ship repair or shipbuilding industry.

    + 10 years of experience in the ship repair or ship building industry with BS degree.

    + Shipyard related experience as a supervisor over repair and maintenance with proven problem solving and decision-making skills.

    + Thorough knowledge of USCG, ABS, and other guidelines/specifications/requirements.

    + Strong Microsoft Office skills.

    + Utilize computer skills to prepare appropriate reports and documents.

    + Hands on experience in running equipment in a marine environment.

    + The candidate must have a significant amount of operations experience managing technical and skilled craft employees.

    + Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, customers and suppliers.

    + Must be familiar with NAVSEA standard items , ABS requirements along with customer specifications

    + Places SAFETY above production, quality at all times

    Pay Information

     

    Full-Time Salary Range: $105835 - $179920

     

    Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
