The Department of Technology Management and Innovation at NYU Tandon School of Engineering (https://engineering.nyu.edu/academics/departments/technology-management-and-innovation) invites applications for part-time, non-tenured instructors of Technology Strategy in the Spring 2026 semester, with a start date of January 20, 2026, and an end date of May 5, 2026.
Technology Strategy in the Department of Technology Management and Innovation at NYU Tandon deals with the strategic aspects of strategic information technology management in organizations. The focus is on both strategy and its implementation, viewing information technology as a means to achieving ends for any type of organization. The course aims to provide the participants with analytical tools for technology strategy development within the context of business strategy. More specifically, the course aims to enable participants to identify and evaluate the various challenges and opportunities associated with the use of new information technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI) in organizations. The course is based on a hands‐on approach, using real‐world case studies and examples, emphasizing experience, interaction and a combination of theory and practice. By successfully completing this course, students will be able to: understand the challenges and opportunities of technology strategy planning and implementation, identify ways in which companies and other organizations develop and use technology‐based capabilities, and understand the interplay between new technologies (e.g., AI) and business issues in the context of strategy. The course is based on a practice‐focused approach, using real‐world case studies and examples and emphasizing experience, interaction and a combination of theory and practice.
