The Department of Corrections Office of Financial Management is filling a temporary unclassified Payroll Transformation Manager. This position is expected to last for one year, with a possibility of being extended up to three years.
The Payroll Transformation Manager will lead and execute end-to-end payroll transformation projections, ensuring process optimization, technology implementation, and alignment with organizational goals. Mainly, the position will manage the Payroll Performance Audit and Process Improvement Initiative. The incumbent will partner with cross-functional teams to drive change management, governance, and continuous improvement across the payroll function.
Minimum Qualifications
To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. + Three years of experience in payroll or project management in a financial fieldNote: An Associates degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Policy, Finance, or related field may substitute for six (6) months of experience, a Bachelors degree in one of the above may substitute for one (1) year of experience, and a Master's degree in one of the above may substitute for 18 months of experience.
+ Experience with project management, including strong organizational skills and attention to detail
+ Interpersonal and human relations skills sufficient to establish effective working relationships
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are strongly desired of applicants seeking consideration for this position:
+ Experience with the State of Minnesota's SEMA4 (Statewide Employee Management) system
+ Experience with State of Minnesota payroll processing
Physical Requirements

Additional Requirements
The selection process may include screening the top candidate(s) on their criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations and/or other applicable background information in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. Top candidate(s) must pass a criminal history check which includes successful completion of all sentencing and/or restitution requirements of law enforcement jurisdictions, including probation.
Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted on the top candidate(s) in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. This may include a review of job performance and discipline records.
