• Heavy Equipment Operator-Material Handler

    Operate a material handler equipped an electro magnet, grapple, and/or bucket.

    Responsibilities:

    + Responsible for scrap inspection as it is being loaded.

    + Inspects the material handler for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions.

    + Operates mobile equipment as needed.

    + Communicates and directs co-workers through two-way radio and hand signals.

    + Assist maintenance with cleaning on down days.

    + occasionally work overtime and weekends as needed

    + High School Diploma or equivalent degree

    + 1 year experience operating a hydraulic excavator or similar equipment.

    Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

    + Must be able to work outdoors in hot and cold temperatures

    + Must be able to work in a busy, often distracting work environment.

    + Must be able to lift-up to 50 pounds unassisted on an occasional basis.

    + Must be able to sit for long periods of time.

    + Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
