CIBC’s Summer Internship Program is a dynamic, 10- 12-week experience (June through August) designed to complement your academic training and support your career aspirations. Centered around the core theme of Learn, Connect, Grow, the program offers a comprehensive blend of opportunities to expand your skills and professional network.
As a Private Wealth Management: Multi-manager Investment Platform Intern:
You will work alongside a proven team of investment professionals, gaining technical, analytical, and industry-specific skills. Throughout the summer, you will engage with CIBC’s executive leadership, connect with peers, and participate in community outreach initiatives.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Private Wealth Management Intern, you will:
+ Gain hands-on experience in investment manager research.
+ Support the team with both quantitative and qualitative analysis of current and prospective investments.
+ Build financial models, conduct forecasting, and perform valuation analysis.
+ Participate in ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) analysis, including review of targets and progress.
+ Conduct investment strategy research, identifying competitive advantages and risks.
+ Assist with operational due diligence, meeting with investment management and risk management teams, and attending investor events.
+ Utilize investment databases such as Factset, Bloomberg, and BipSync.
+ Participate in investment manager meetings and summarize key takeaways.
+ Draft investment reports and contribute to thematic research.
+ Communicate insights with the manager research team.
Who You Are
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027.
Minimum 3.0 GPA.
Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, independence of thought, and superior quantitative and analytical abilities.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to express facts and ideas clearly both verbally and in writing.
Strong reading and writing abilities, integral to the research process.
Professional judgment and conduct in work products and interactions.
Competency with Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Bloomberg or Factset is an asset.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Compensation:
This role has an expected hourly rate of $25.00 per hour for the State of Illinois market, based on experience, qualifications, and location. CIBC offers a full range of benefits and programs to meet our interns’ needs, including 401(k) contribution, Paid Time Off (including Sick Leave and Vacation), Holidays, and other perks.
