As a Speech Pathologist, you will perform clinical Speech Pathology test procedures and evaluate communication and swallowing function of patients. You will interpret and report test results to facilitate medical diagnosis, provide counseling and education to patients and their families, and determine therapeutic plans. This is a full-time position. Caregivers in this role will work 8:00am to 5:00pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Perform diagnostic speech pathology test procedures and evaluate communication and swallowing function of patients.
+ Interpret and reports on test results to facilitate medical diagnosis.
+ Provide counseling and education about communication and diagnosis to patients and their families.
+ Determine therapeutic plan, including need for therapy, frequency of treatment, focus for intervention, prognosis and duration of therapy.
+ Select assistive speech devices to improve patient communication.
+ Perform re-evaluation to determine progress after therapy.
+ Provide observations about hearing and other behavior to help determine the need for other services.
+ Maintain records of all services.
+ Communicate results and recommendations for improving communicative function to referral sources and outside agencies such schools and employers.
+ Maintain speech pathology equipment and materials.
+ Assist with planning, budget, service or project development, fee setting, purchase of new equipment or materials.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology
+ Current Speech-Language Pathology License (SP) in Ohio from the State Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology
+ Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
+ Completion of a nine-month clinical fellowship year
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Previous tracheoesophageal prostheses (TEP) management experience
+ Previous clinical and instrumental swallowing evaluation experience via Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) and Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS)

Physical Requirements:
+ Ability to stand for long periods of time.
+ Manual dexterity and visual acuity sufficient to perform tests.
Personal Protective Equipment:
+ Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience in the evaluation and treatment of head and neck cancer related communication (TEP) and swallowing disorders.
+ Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES)
+ Modified Barium Swallow (MBS)
+ Experience working in a multidisciplinary clinic
Pay Range
Minimum Annual Salary: $63,250.00
Maximum Annual Salary: $96,467.50
The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
