The Global Technical Trainer, Digital Pathology, for Leica Biosystems is responsible for serving as a Qualified Training (QT) and Master Trainer (MT) for various DP products, such as Aperio GT Platform products, Aperio FL, and others. The QT/MT bears responsibility for worldwide service training, certifying Field Service Engineers (FSEs), and maintaining and updating service curricula. This role will work closely with R&D and Global Support to continuously improve external quality and product serviceability.
This position reports to the Manager, Technical Writing & Training and is part of the Digital Pathology Business Unit located in Vista, CA, USA and will be ONSITE.
NOTE: This is an ONSITE position. Candidates not located, or not willing / able to relocate to the Vista, CA area need not apply.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Deliver technical training for Field Service Engineers and other service or support personnel, on Digital Pathology hardware, software, and workflows.
+ Develop and maintain curricula including slide decks, job aids, and service manuals to ensure all content is synchronized with design changes, TSBs, and regulatory updates.
+ Partner cross‑functionally with R&D, Product Management, Quality, and Global Support Engineers to create launch‑ready service training and to translate engineering updates into field‑usable procedures.
+ Manage training assets (scanners, servers, demo datasets) to ensure equipment reliability, cybersecurity compliance, and a safe lab environment.
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific discipline, or equivalent experience.
+ At least one (1) year of experience delivering trainings in technical fields, preferably in the medical device or life sciences industry.
+ Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and software configuration.
+ Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage complex technical issues with minimal supervision.
+ Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics to diverse audiences.
Travel Requirements:
+ This position requires up to 15% flying and/or driving travel, which may potentially include overnight stays. Travel will primarily be domestic but may occasionally be international.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Experience with regulated environments (GMP, GCP, GLP).
+ Familiarity with training delivery, adult learning principles, and LMS platforms.
+ Experience supporting or training on digital pathology or imaging systems.

The annual salary range for this role is $85,000.00-$105,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
