As a Plant Engineer, you will oversee the management of the facility's physical plant and critical systems, ensuring they operate reliably and efficiently. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining compliance with FDA regulations and supporting production operations through effective facility and equipment management.

    Responsibilities

    + Oversee the day-to-day management of the facility’s physical plant and critical systems, including electrical distribution, HVAC, cleanroom environmental controls, EMS, BMS, and security systems.

    + Manage building utilities and site infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted support for production operations.

    + Develop and maintain preventive maintenance and calibration schedules for facility and production equipment.

    + Coordinate with external vendors for facility services, repairs, and equipment calibration.

    + Ensure strict compliance with FDA regulations, cGMP, and USP 797/800 guidelines.

    + Act as the facility subject matter expert during internal audits and external regulatory inspections.

    + Oversee the full lifecycle of critical equipment from installation to decommissioning.

    + Plan and coordinate equipment IQ, OQ, and PQ activities.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum BS degree in Engineering or related field.

    + 5+ years of facilities or engineering operations management experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or 503B sterile compounding facility under cGMP conditions.

    + Proven track record of managing facility systems in a regulated manufacturing environment.

    + In-depth knowledge of cleanroom operations and environmental control systems.

    + Familiarity with equipment qualification and validation processes.

    + Strong understanding of FDA regulatory requirements and industry standards.

    + Excellent project management and organizational skills.

    + Effective communication and leadership abilities.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with quality systems documentation and change control procedures.

    + Experience in training or guiding technicians/staff.

    + Experience leading facility expansion projects and cleanroom construction/upgrades.

    + Demonstrated ability to scale operations and implement new technologies or systems.

    Work Environment

    This role is based in Albany, NY, within an FDA-registered 503B outsourcing facility specializing in sterile compounded medications. You will be working in a clean room environment under strict cGMP and regulatory oversight. The position offers a standard work schedule from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, within a startup environment where you will be the first hire in this role.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Colonie, New York.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
