The Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is searching for an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or PA to work in the newly open UHealth Sole Mia Facility. The selected candidate will provide direct outpatient clinical care to cardiovascular patients at least 8 sessions (4 hour) per week. The APRN/PA should has experience in cardiology and be able to work independently or with minimal supervision. The APRN/PA delivers medical care to a wide variety of patients. The APRN/PA also examines and treats patients independently and in autonomous collaboration with other health care professionals. Ensures proper illness and injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. May prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests. Advises patients about continuing care.

+ Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and blood work, and interprets test results.
+ Performs minor procedures, such as immunizations, injections, suturing, and wound care.
+ Develops and implements patient care plans, instructs and counsels patients, and maintains records of treatments and results.
+ Provides general health education and assists with emergency treatment and complex procedures.
+ Answers calls and participates in audits and inquiries related to billed services.
+ Records concise, accurate, and legible documentation of medical data on patients’ charts.
+ Reports and documents significant information and changes in patients’ conditions.
+ Interprets laboratory and radiological findings as they relate to patients' clinical presentation and current treatments.
+ Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Education:
Master’s degree in relevant field
Certification and Licensing:
Certifications in relevant specialty or field
Experience:

DEPARTMENT ADDENDUM
Department Specific Functions
The Physician Assistant will participate in the outpatient services at SoLe Mia.
The candidate will be:
+ Responsible for providing care and treatment of patients in the outpatient setting.
+ Conduct follow-up visits for general cardiovascular conditions, including medication management and preventive counseling
+ Evaluate patients before EP procedures and provide post-procedure follow-up
+ Assist with programming, interrogating and troubleshooting devices, including remote monitoring review.
+ Provides medical support to staff, triaging and implementing care in a knowledgeable and skillful manner, as evidenced by team feedback and documentation in medical records.
+ Obtains complete medical history, performs physical exams, and interprets medical history.
+ Administers nursing assessments to include performing examinations and assessing a patient's health status.
+ Reviews patient’s medications and reconciles them in the EMR.
+ Orders lab tests, analyzes, interprets lab test results, review ECGs, Telemetry, Holter, etc. providing preliminary findings and recommendations to supervising physicians and takes appropriate actions.
+ Enters orders.
+ Requests labs and if labs not done or abnormal, takes actions including but not limited to: notify patient/family and MD and document it appropriately.
+ Ensures that follow-up visit, tests and labs are appropriately scheduled.
+ Responsible for writing visit notes on patients.
+ Counsels patients and families on continued care.
+ Responsible for the effectiveness of interventions, including but not limit to call patients with active issues until issues have resolved.
+ First option for patient’s calls - test results, symptoms, med refills, authorizations, and forms.
+ Be on charge of clinic flow, with the goal of see patients at the time they are scheduled and avoid clinic delays.
